Sapio Concept Design

OVERVIEW

Sapio is a fresh produce app, with the initiative of building smart personal farms for homes that make growing simple.
 

Most people don’t have the time, space or the expertise to grow their own food, so it provides an option to buy pre - harvested boxes in the comfort of home.
 

This App provides the user with both the options, whichever is more suitable to their lifestyle and help them take the next step to a better life.

Background

The concept for Sapio was conceptualized as a part of learning the basics of UX/UI Design. Coming from an earlier physical product design background (Jewelry and home decor products) ; it was important to understand how design flows across different design fields similarly and how the technical aspects keep varying as we go deeper into each of the diciplines.
 

A six month long project that dug deep into how to design for the digital media and for users in general. of just focusing on core subject based learning. Learn more about what Born Bright does.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
  • Learning the basics of UX Design. The process entailed learning the more specific parts that are to do with UX Design.

  • Bridging the concepts of physical design with the digital medium. Creating a design process that merges physical and digital medias of designing, understanding that the core concepts remain the same and it is about designing for users ultimately by understanding the needs and wants of HCD.

  • Creating native applications for iOs and Android platforms. Designing native applications understanding the opportunities and limitations each of the platforms and devices associated with them.

  • Designing the website. Creating a landing page that drives users to download and register the applications for both the devices.

The Process
UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM

The concept is directed towards targeting a need for people to adopt a healthier lifestyle through accessible, eco-friendly, fresh and affordable food choices.
 

Creating an alternative solution by helping provide solutions at your own home. Creating a pathway and source via an app that gives you how to, when to and what to do solutions. Creating a pathway and source via an app that gives you what to when to and where to buy required material used in vertical farming residential model.
 

The concept is targeted towards, evangelists and enthusiasts who are looking to adapt to a better lifestyle. Health Conscious people, Admirers of gardening and farming, who are willing to grow their own produce.

DESIGN PROCESS

The process we followed at Born bright is touse a double diamond design process, as it is essential to create a structured and well maintained design process. Our aim was to incorporate the key phases of Discovery, Definition, Ideation and implementation in all of our projects.

QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH - TAKEAWAYS
  • People are looking for a healthier lifestyle but aren’t highly sure of the avenues

  • Majority of them live with families in urban landscape

  • Mostly everyone buys vegetables from Local Vendors due to price and accessibility

  • Vegetables are usually bought once a week and stored for the rest of the days

  • People are willing to buy a little higher price for pesticide free vegetables

  • Buying pre harvested boxes is a more preferred option in comparison to growing at home

QUALITATIVE RESEARCH - TAKEAWAYS

  • After interviewing 09 people from the quantitative research, 03 personas were created and divided as per different user segments.

  • The segments were divided into health conscious, fit category, bachelor living alone and a home maker.

  • The personas were colour coded into warm and cool colours depending on their personality.

SCENARIO - 1 : KETO DIET PLAN

Harsh is a health conscious man with a daily regime. He works out everyday and follows a systematic diet plan. To eat as per his diet plan, he has to look around in multiple places for the right kind of veggies.
 

While googling about the veggies for Keto, he comes across SAPIO.
 

SAPIO is a service providing him with a custom keto plan the choice of quantities and varieties as per need. He los onto the app, chooses the box and gets his supplies door delivered to him as per convenience.

SCENARIO - 2 : HOBBY DEVELOPMENT

Bhakti is an IT Professional with a busy life. Her gruelling schedule always impacts her health. Being a family person, she wants to develop a healthier lifestyle for her and her family. She is looking forward to developing a recreational activity in her free time that is not just enjoyable but is highly beneficial too.
 

While, talking to her colleague about it, she comes across SAPIO; a home farming app that helps you start growing your own vegetables at home and eat organic, pesticide free food.
 

She signs up on SAPIO, gets the farming system delivered to her home. An executive from SAPIO delivers a vertical farming system and her subscription box with which she starts to grow her own veggies.

SCENARIO - 3 : CHRISTMAS DEVELOPMENT

Nishtha is a social person who loves to hangout with her friends. One day she decides to host a party at her place for Christmas. She is looking to buy a lot of supplies for the house party and is confused as to give more priority to what. She is running out of time and has a lot left to finish.
 

With less time and a lot of food varieties to cook. She decides to order a party box from SAPIO. With the party box, she can choose her cuisines and order healthy veggies at the same time as per her custom plans.
 

She logs on to the app chooses the box and gets her food delivered to her doorstep in time.
